Can you also remove the sms limit of 1300 and make it unlimited, (or atleast give the option of saving it directly onto the external memory card rather than having to backup all the time) extremely annoying having to delete messages all the time,

also having issues receiving long sms messages, it always gets broken, its not a problem with the network as others on this network receive it just fine.

also small quicker updates rather than having to wait for a long time would be nice. it seems to be working for android

Thanks Bada team :)

Hi, any indication of when a small update to fix the small issues like broken message and 1300 sms limit? Iam about to give up on this phone as its getting really frustrating having to delete messages everyday and having people constantly resend long messages..

Let me know please
Thanks

hi bada team !!! are these information about samsung s8500 wave and bada correct ? please help me.
if they are no correct, plese correct them to me , thanks alot ?

-------------------------------------------------------------
Detailed Technical Specifications of Samsung GT-S8500 Wave 8GB / CPU Core ARM Cortex-A8 and Mobile DDR SDRAM

Microprocessor, Chipset

CPU Clock: 1000 MHz
CPU: Samsung Hummingbird
Width of Machine Word: 32 bit
CPU Core: ARM Cortex-A8
Level 1 cache: 32KiB data cache / 32 KiB instruction cache
Instruction Set: ARMv7

Memory, Storage capacity
RAM type: mobile DDR SDRAM
RAM capacity: 512 MB
ROM type: Flash EEPROM
ROM capacity: 7800 MB, including 7300MB user-accessible non-volatile storage
ROM capacity; in bytes: 8.18 GB (billion bytes)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Okay, I just want to make this clear about the RAM business in the Samsung Wave s8500 !!!!!!!

Samsung Wave s8500 physically have 512MB of Mobile DDR RAM .

The fact is (if you are on Bada 1.0-1.2), 256MB of RAM is reserved for Bada OS along with the libraries and service layers. This also includes the Bada Default apps (such as Mail, Messaging, IM, Social Hub, Facebook/Twitter, Dolfin, TouchWiz Music, Gallery etc.)

In Bada 1.0-1.2, the phone can only utilize one of the 2 parts of the RAM (this is because how the OS is designed).

*****************************************************************************************************************
It is a real good news that our Wave is not underpowered. Wave's hardware was for a good 6 months among a few most powerful phones on the market. Now, what do you think, what was the reason Samsung did not fix RAM distribution issue with Bada 1.2, why is Samsung treating Bada like an orphan. We all had a feeling that Samsung decided to put a stop on its bad firmware support tradition by releasing such a powerful device for quite an attractive price. Not all the people bought the Wave because of the low price, but many actually looked forward to breaking with user unfriendly Symbian, iPhone restriction policy and so on...

Thanks for all of the information

***************** request nd suggestion for bda os improvment !!!!!

why u desigened bada os so , it is very bad designing ,please unify the RAM "partitions" into one in bada 2.0 deign soon , it is very nececerry , if samsung bada does unifies along with better OS optimization (memory leaks and over-usage), then things will be much more smoother and less confusing and enriches the user's experience.

************************************************

Basically, when you have a install app running, and switching to a Bada native app, the install app will (Suspend). This will suspend the RAM (RAM-reserve switching). One of the parts can be used. But the certain functions of Bada will run in the background, not all (some of these services are suspended as well).

Within the Bada OS reserved RAM, approximately 70MB-90MB (depending on numbers of widgets, homescreens and app main menus). For reference of browser, Dolfin will take about 12MB-18MB of RAM to show about:blank (OS 1.0-1.2). Enabling Flash will add about 3MB-5MB to show the blank page.

TouchWiz Music Player takes about 10MB-16MB depending on how many songs you have in your Library and how many Cover Art (also if you turn on the Visualization). SRS Mobile Surround and EQs do not really affect the RAM since they are built into the player itself. (Not turning it on/turning it on RAM usage is very subtle). It does however take more CPU resources and shortening battery life.

**NOTE: Java based software is part of the OS layers and is unaffected if you install third-party Java apps. The Java Runtime as a whole is part of the Bada default services**

As of now, I have no information if Bada 2.0 will unify the RAM "partitions" into one, but if it does unifies along with better OS optimization (memory leaks and over-usage), then things will be much more smoother and less confusing and enriches the user's experience.

Hi! I bought the Wave 3 and very disappointed with it!!!  There is NO support for file types ZIP and RAR - I cannot load this files from Internet...
There is no melody on group of contacts. There is no call recording. There is no... There is no... There is no... There is no... There is no...
If bada team want that their system will be needed and desired - they have to heard us (your customers). I think that it is time to move to Android...

Every platform has it's pros and con's.

i.e. windows phone is very smooth but lacks usb support, bluetooth file transfer etc
android has a lot of security holes etc
blackberry requires BIS (additional charge per month) etc

Bada is relatively new and offers a great UI , stability  and low cost. If you require rar support and you see a gap in the market why don't you go ahead and create your own app, upload it on the market and monetize your idea. After all this is a developer's forum

Ok, ok... But - to load zip or rar file to my application, this file need to be loaded from Internet first!!! Why they will create applications for file types those can't to be loaded into bada? I don't understand these limitations so ZIP or RAR are simply containers for other files (maybe .doc, .txt, .pdf and so on)!
dal_home@ / Dec, 28, 2011 09:14 Post : #14

Sorry for my carelessness. The Application Manager has ability to create your own content types... So ZIP and RAR extensions is not problem for newly created applications! But what about Dolfin browser?

hey, i tried on dolphin browser in wave3 to get a.zip and a .rar sample file but dint get one. can you please give me any such links so that i can try
