Introducing bada Ad Gateway

By bada Master | 12437 views | Aug 18, 2011

The bada Ad Gateway is a mobile advertising service from Samsung Electronics that support various in-app advertisement formats for bada developers. If you are looking for revenue streams beyond simple application sales, this is the answer. The new mobile ad service is an opportunity to diversify your business model, providing many convenient features specifically for bada developers beyond what other all networks provide. Below is an overview of the service and the characteristics of the bada Ad Gateway.

First, bada Ad Gateway provides a highly profitable opportunity.

The bada Ad Gateway business model connects several ad networks and has several advantages over using a single ad network.

The bada Ad Gateway has a rich pool of advertisers from multiple partner ad networks, which means you have access to a variety of advertising to fill your application's ad inventory. The bada Ad Gateway offers 3 options of ad network selection for you to choose how you want ads displayed in your application.

1. Specify a single ad network.

  • If you want to specify a single ad network as your advertisement provider, do the following: developer.bada.com > My applications > Component setup > Ad network partners > Register one of the ad networks.

2. Specify the priority and weight of multiple ad networks.

  • If you want to specify priorities for multiple ad networks, select the priority under "Select Mediation Rule" in your ad inventory settings. Specify Weighted, then adjust the percentage slider for each provider to set how often their ads appear in your application. For example, if you want 80% of ads in your application to be from first provider, slide the bar to 80% in the "detail setting"; the rest of the providers are set automatically.

3. Specify random for multiple ad networks.

  • If you want to receive ads randomly, set the mediation rule as "round robin".

If you want to change the ad settings for your application after it has been deployed, you can do so at the Developer Site (developer.bada.com) without any code changes and without redeploying or re-releasing your application.

Second, bada Ad Gateway is convenient for developers to use.

The bada Ad Gateway is fully integrated into the bada 2.0 SDK, so you can monetize your applications with advertisements without any additional libraries. Reporting tools at the bada Developers portal give you detailed statistics with graphs for you to review. The reporting screen consists of a dashboard where you can check performance at a glance, detailed reports that include the fill rate(Advertisement fill rate compared to requests from inventory.), impressions(The number of ad impressions.), requests(The number of ad requests.), clicks, earnings, CTR (Click Through Rate), CPC (Cost Per Click), and eCPM (Cost Per Mille).
